Made by the same family that crafted incense for the Happy Hari brand over 15 years ago, this unique Oudh Masala was discontinued by Paul Eagle in appx. 2013 due to its extremely high cost. But we’ve spared no expense to acquire it — and now, we’re proud to share it with you.
A pure work of art, a harmonious ensemble of precious agarwood, pinewood, mint, and some distant hints of leather and tobacco. Mesmerising and delightful, this incense is like the complex bouquet of an aged wine – so precious that every bit of it is enjoyed with awe and admiration. Some experts compare this incense to a Sufi poetry.
Legend has it that Paul Eagle once sold this incense for €1 per stick in the United Arab Emirates. It was available before he transitioned to the later soft masala version — thinner heavily powdered sticks with a more affordable, cologne-like note and honey — now sold as Oudh in the UK and Oudh Masala in the USA.
One of our customers from the Netherlands — who helped Paul find distributors there over 10 years ago — says: “The same applies to Oudh Masala (BI: this refers to the more affordable variation): the one we received from you in September had a dominant mint note and is truly as described on your website – a little too much mint to our taste actually – but we ordered it again because it did remind us of the original Oudh Masala from Paul Eagle from 10 years ago, although that one had more barnyard notes, and an ambergris note; we only have a few sticks of those left.”

I knew the old version. Perhaps we should say that it is a new incense, based on the ancient oudh masala, but which completely renews it. You find it in the background, but with the addition of mint and pinewood, the “barn” side fades but the incense seems to become deeper.
